Preventing Oxidation
To avoid the oxidation of your fashion pieces, it is necessary to pay particular attention to their care, starting by protecting them from air and dust, as well as from contact with other jewelry. To do this, we recommend investing in a honeycomb jewelry box to keep each piece separated.
When wearing them, be careful not to keep them in contact with your skin for too long, especially when you are warm, as the metal reacts to sweat.

Likewise, we advise you to spray perfume directly on your jewelry and to avoid exposing it to water and chemicals such as detergents and cosmetics.
What to do in case of oxidation?
If, despite these precautions, you need to clean an oxidized piece of jewelry, know that the solution varies depending on the material it is made of. Metals that oxidize upon contact with air, such as silver and copper, can be cleaned simply by rubbing them with a clean, soft cloth, which will restore their shine.
Silver can be effectively cleaned by immersing the piece in water with the addition of baking soda: a few minutes in this bath and careful drying with a clean cloth should generally suffice. In case of persistent stains on copper pieces, you can resort to natural stripping products that we all have in our kitchens: salt and vinegar.
Respect the proportion of one cup of warm vinegar in which we will have dissolved a tablespoon of salt. Immersed in this true youth bath, your pieces regain their shine: just rinse and dry them well to wear them again.
However, be cautious with acidic substances such as lemon and vinegar, which can alter the appearance of certain colored stones set in your rings, bracelets, necklaces… Make sure to check their composition before starting!
The cleaning processes we have just indicated are simple and natural, but sometimes the use of specific cleaning products may be essential. In this case, we advise you to consult a professional or, in any case, to choose a cleaning product compatible with the materials that make up your jewelry.
